Games arrive in Google+

Games have arrived in Google+, and it seems they’ve done it right.  They’re well integrated, but won’t interrupt your stream (yay!).

When you’re ready to play, the Games page is waiting—click the games button at the top of your stream. You can see the latest game updates from your circles, browse the invites you’ve received and check out games that people you know have played recently. The Games page is also where your game accomplishments will appear. So you can comfortably share your latest high score—your circles will only see the updates when they’re interested in playing games too.

You can read more on the Official Google Blog.  What do you think about their implementation?

Games are coming to Google+

Love them or hate them, games are coming to Google+.  We’ve heard rumors of this for a while, but some new code buried on the site has confirmed it.

A lot of people are enjoying the break from the Facebook games while on Google+, so Google will want to be careful about how they’re implemented.  While they’ll obviously want to make them as engaging and social as possible, many users on Facebook are feeling over-gamed.

The screenshot above indicates a separate “Games stream”, which sounds like a good solution.  Keep our main streams clean of that stuff, and have it all contained in the games stream.  Of course, over-eager game publishers will likely try to litter our primary streams with game updates, so hopefully Google will be able to keep it contained.

What do you think?  Does an idea like a separate “games stream” sound good?
