A great list of Chrome extensions for Google+

If you’re using Google Chrome as your web browser, we’ve come across a site with a bunch of great extensions that you can load to improve your experience with Google+.  (if you’re not using Chrome, you should be — get it here)

While I hope (and expect) that many of the extensions will be added to the standard Google+ interface, it’s a great way to try things early.  What all is available?

  • Tools to manage your replies better.
  • Share your g+ posts on Twitter, Facebook, etc.
  • Show your notification count in the browser, so you’ll see it while you’re on any site.
  • Photo zoom, to make photos enlarge on hover.
  • Comment toggle to show/hide comments more easily
  • Lots more!
The list is growing every day, so head over there and find one (or more) that work for you.  One that I can’t find yet is a plugin to pull the “mute” link out of that dropdown menu.  I love to mute posts to keep my stream cleaned up, but the extra click is getting old.  If you find one that does that, let me know!
Which is your favorite extension so far?

I’ve got one major beef with Chrome. When Chrome came out, I thought it was awesome! I used it almost exclusively until Firefox finally fixed the bloating memory glitch. By the time FF did this, Chrome was becoming a major pain in the ass because it was bloating just as bad and bogging down my computer. I couldn’t have a browser open for more than a couple of hours continuously before I had to close and reopen it in order for it to do a memory dump. Until that is fixed, I will stick with FF which is, yet again, lightyears ahead of the other browsers.

*note: I’m currently using FF 5.

Peter — Sorry to hear it’s behaving that way, but I can certainly understand your frustration.

There are already a handful of nice Google+ plug-ins for Firefox, but I haven’t taken a look at them yet. If you find anything good, please let us know.

Here is another great chrome app, G+Me, which simplifies busy streams for easy viewing. Collapsible list and expanded view, has notification count and keep tracks of new comments. Able to read stream with ease. Suitable for G+ power users. Details and download from http://huyz.us/google-plus-me/
